William Cordova’s extended improvisations in time (spike lee, arthur lee, edwin lee y lee quiriones), a project in three components, opens at Prospect 3 on October 25, 2014.

The project extended improvisations in time focuses on reframing history and making the invisible visible by contextualizing the origins of known and unknown historical events in New Orleans. The project reveals, scrutinizes and critiques the various forms they have taken; vernacular architecture, state sponsored monuments, music, folklore etc.

The layers of history in New Orleans do not sit idle but are constantly vibrating not through the touristy French Quarter but in the periphery of that other silence. The highlighting and revealing of these histories will allow the different individual and collective perspectives.
